What is a carnival without carnival prizes? We used to give out prizes at each booth; the better you did at the game the better the prize was. However, we had a hard time finding prizes that birth through High School boys and girls would all like. It left no room for choice from the kids and they didn't even want half the prizes. So a few years ago we decided to try a new system. Now children are given between 0 and 3 tokens. When they have 25 tokens they go to the token center and turn them in for a certificate good for 25 tokens. They also are given one spin of the wheel where they can win 0, 1, 2 or 3 more tokens. Please encourage children to visit the token center as soon as they have 25 tokens. The purpose of exchanging them is so we can recycle them back to the games instead of buying enough for the entire four hours. Clubbers can take their tokens and certificates inside and redeem them for prizes. The age of the child is taken into consideration when tokens are given. We didn't like the idea of cheap prizes so we try to set a guideline of every token being worth ten cents. How is this possible? Donations! We love them! You can donate prizes in the church lobby or call Paula at 887-3917 if you have a prize you think we can use. We supplement the donations with other things and all prizes are in new condition if not new. We are thankful to have the Lamplighters Seniors Group manning the tables and helping the children with their selections.
