Although some clubs do charge dues we feel that AWANAź should be accessible to all children without charge. Therefore we do not charge dues. The only costs are the costs of uniforms (once for Cubbies, once for Sparks, once for Truth & Training,) and books (zero to three per year depending on your child's speed). If you cannot afford books or uniforms they will be provided for you.
What will my child be learning?
AWANAź is a non-denomiational program based on the teachings of the Bible. All books are New International Version
When will my child be eligible for an uniform?
Children are eligable for uniforms once they pass their entrance books (small paper books averaging about six sections long).
Can I stay with my child during the meeting?
We want both you and your child to feel comfortable at AWANAź. Therefore you are welcome to stay with your child. However, if your child is in Puggles (3 years before kindergarten or younger) you are required to stay with them.
I have a child who wants to stay with another child in a different age group. Is this possible?
Although we prefer your child to be in their own age group they can attend another age group with someone they know for a while.
My child is not very good at memorizing; can they still come to AWANAź?
Of course they can! Although we prefer children to memorize their verses some never make it through the entrance book! At least they are there and learning about God with others their age.
Can my child start during the middle of the year?
Yes, your child can start at anytime! Even if they do sports one part of the year on Wednesdays they can come the rest of they year! We would love to have them.
You can sign your child up at the AWANAź carnival, during preregistration at church, or at any AWANAź meeting. Just show up and fill out a simple registration card with your child's name, address, phone number, birth date, age, grade, and your name.
Of course they can! And you are welcome too!
My child was held back in school. Which group should they go with?
Honestly it depends on the child. If the child is comfortable staying back in AWANAź also we usually leave them there. However, a lot of times the child has friends in the grade they should be in. In this case we let them go with that group. The decision is up to the parent, child, and leaders as a whole.
What is the special program for Junior High and High Schoolers
